Hair Fall

Hair grows approximately one centimetre (less than half an inch) each month during its normal growth cycle, which lasts from 2 to 6 years. Approximately 10% of the hair loss from the scalp or elsewhere in the body is resting at any given time. Within 2 to 3 months, the old hair falls out and new hair grows.

When fast food, fried foods, spicy foods, salty foods, and aerated drinks are consumed in excess, Pitta Dosha (the humour of fire in Ayurveda) accumulates in the scalp and hair falls out prematurely.
